"Hand hygiene - breakdown in practice"

About: Latrobe Regional Hospital

(as a relative),

I visited my grandbaby and family in the special care nursery. The paediatric team came by for rounds. The lead clinician had touched the humicrib before performing ABR hand rub.  The clinician had long sleeves which were not pushed back to the elbows, thus sleeves were also touching inside the incubator. I did not observe use of the ABR prior to leaving our care cubicle.
