"Emergency visit"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my son into Bunbury Hospital ED recently as he was unwell with Asthma and trouble breathing, fevers, vomiting, and chest pain. He was seen straight away when we went in and was taken straight into a bay in the resuscitation area.

The doctors and nurses were amazing at explaining to me and my son (14yo) what was happening, and what tests and treatments they were doing and planning. We had to stay in ED for quite a long time but this was necessary to get the tests and treatments we needed. The staff checked on us often and updated us with the test results and the plan and made sure that we understood and were happy with that. We both felt really safe and looked after.

One of the nurses even made me a cup of tea and took the time to warm up a muffin for me. Special thanks to Drs Samia and Sienna and nurses Dani and Annette.

Dear matarcn55

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are incredibly grateful for your feedback and so pleased to hear that our Emergency Department team made both you and your son feel heard, supported and safe during what must have been an incredibly frightening time.

It will be my great pleasure to pass on your kind words and thanks to Drs Samia and Sienna, as well as nurses Dani and Annette, and the wider team involved in your care.

We hope your son is now back home and recovering well.

Kind regards,

Amber Hargans
