I am rapidly approaching 89 years and have over the last few years become a regular customer at Coffs Hospital. So often that I feel should get frequent flyer points!. Covid, gout, plant sap in my eyes, a fall of the back verandah where I was rushed into ICU and put to sleep for ,I think about eight days. A fall off ladder about four years ago with one broken
Vertebrae and a second one cracked, a tactor accident about 18 years ago and about month in hospital with wonderful follow up physiotherapy. Oh I can't remember all my visit but what I can remember was the absolutely wonderful care I was given on every occasion.
When I had Covid and Pneumonia together i was in an isolation ward for a week. I don't remember many of the night staff but during the day, in isolation the were two very professional and efficient nurses caring or me.
One was a lovely Indian lass and the other was a very pleasant and helpful man from Iran. I was wonderful to see so many people from other countries working as nurses. Nurses never walk, they run all day and must be exhausted at the end of their shifts. The doctor doing the rounds was thorough with me and as far as i could see, with every other patient. My advice is, if you're going to be sick, Coffs Base Hospital in the best place to be
