"MGP at Karratha Health Campus"

About: Karratha Health Campus / Maternity Unit

(as the patient),

I was fortunate enough to be part of the MGP at KHC for my third and last pregnancy. It was so refreshing and reassuring having continuity of care from my midwife, Emy. I had a bit of previous birth trauma and Emy went above and beyond in supporting me and advocating for me to give me the most healing and empowering c section. The support I received from the midwives on the ward was also extraordinary. A special shoutout to Heather and Mina who were on the late/nightshifts - they both made me feel so supported and safe in such a vulnerable time post C/S. I was also lucky enough to have a student midwife Bree - who is completing her midwifery through Charles Darwin university. Her ongoing support, care and check ins made the world of difference and she will be an amazing midwife and asset to the team one day! Overall I’m beyond grateful for the care I experienced from all of the midwives at KHC during my last pregnancy. It was truly a healing experience that I will never forget.

Dear mineralqt58,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

I'm glad that your journey through the Midwifery Group Practice provided the continuity, support and reassurance you were looking for during your pregnancy.

I will ensure your feedback is shared with Emy, Heather, Mina and Bree, as well as the broader maternity team. It's great to hear how supported and safe you felt throughout your care, and the positive impact this had on your overall experience.

Your recognition of Bree as a student midwife is also appreciated. Supporting students and building our future workforce is an important part of what we do, particularly in regional health services. It is clear from your comments that she made a positive contribution to your care, and I have no doubt your feedback will mean a great deal to her as she progresses her career.

Thank you again for sharing your experience. On behalf of the team at Karratha Health Campus, I wish you and your family all the very best for the future.

Warm regards,

Nhuan Ho
