We have started a journey that requires my spouse to have a bone marrow transplant. This news has rocked us and is stressful, we were expecting to have a well developed plan towards treatment. This has not been the case, the transplant Dr has been nothing but elusive even to the point of missing a phone consultation that we had waited all day for, thinking we would get an approximate start date for the transplant. We have also been meeting with the radiation team because my spouse needs radiation therapy on their spleen before the transplant. They are now planning on giving my spouse a lesser dose because the transplant Dr hasn’t been forthcoming with information about my spouse.
We are looking for some clarification on what is happening as nobody that we have spoken to knows and apparently it all hinges on the transplant Dr and they are seemingly not telling anyone the plan. We need to sort out things such as work, family and support networks to facilitate the healing process.
