On December 15th 2025, My husband Raymond was diagnosed with Cancer-Sarcoma, he was given twelve months with treatment and two months without. They couldn’t go through with treatment for him, he got very sick with the radiation, We were handed over to the Palliative care team in Northam Hospital, WA.
My husband amazed his doctor, Nurse and his family, when he was first diagnosed he said he was gonna fight and the doctors had said he only had two months, but he amazed the palliative care team, doctors and us, and he went on and continually proved how amazing and strong he was. he kept fighting even when the pain was a 10/10 he still showed us he was fighter. On the 20th of may 2026, he sadly passed away.
We had the privileged to have Dr Byron who was absolutely amazing and helped us through and he did his best to explain things so we could understand and he always cared about our concerns and opinions.
We also had an amazing and wonderful Palative care nurse, Shannon constantly went far and beyond to help us. She always showed up when we needed her and she always had a smile. She made a horrible time in our life. Just a little bit more bearable, her and Ray always found a way to have a joke together. And she even was amazing with our grandson. Even at the end she came when needed and was there to help. They were the best team we could’ve ever asked for.
We had the privilege to have them walk us through this dreadful time in our life. And would love to say thank you for the amazing people who went far and beyond to help us.
