"My mum in Armadale hospital palliative care"

About: Armadale Hospital

(as a relative),

This is a very hard post to write but I think it may help other families going through palliative care at Armadale hospital .. my darling mum passed away last month after 4 weeks in canning ward on palliative care .....the staff couldn't possibly have helped us more than they did with their ultimate caring professional kindness from the way they fed my dad every day as he sat with my mum for 8 hours each day 💔😩also ...so much so that the night staff let us sit with our mums body for 3 hours after she had passed without not once trying to hurry us up at all! ... many many thanks to each shift on canning ward and a special mention to palliative nurse Claire on who's advice we gratefully appreciated .. saddest time of my life dealt with in the most loving ways .. ❤️❤️well done Armadale hospital 💕💕

Dear Chickybabe66

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a deeply personal experience with us. I understand this must be a very difficult time for you and your family, and I would like to extend my sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved mum.

I was touched to read your feedback about the care provided on Canning Ward. It means a great deal to know that our team were able to support your mum, your dad and your family with compassion, kindness and dignity throughout this time. The moments you have described, particularly the care shown to your dad while he spent so much time by your mum’s side and the respect given to your family to say goodbye, are so important and reflect the standard of care we strive to provide.

I will ensure your heartfelt feedback is shared with all of the staff on Canning Ward, as well as with Claire, who I know will value being mentioned. Your recognition of their care and compassion will mean a great deal to them.

Thank you again for sharing your experience. It was a privilege for our team to care for your mum and to support your family.

Kind regards
