"Emergency Department and Paediatric Care"

From the moment we arrived on 20 June around 10pm, we were treated with kindness, respect and compassion. Our son’s needs were always the priority, and throughout his time in ED the doctors and nurses were incredibly thorough and cautious without putting him through unnecessary interventions.

When he experienced a seizure due to his fever, as first-time parents we were absolutely terrified. The way the team responded was incredible; calm, professional and reassuring. Not only did they care for our son, but they cared for us as well during one of the scariest moments of our lives.

The respect shown to our tiny human was incredible. The patience, gentleness and genuine care demonstrated by every staff member made such a difference. Whether it was comforting him during procedures, offering us tea, coffee, food and a place to rest, or holding him while one of us took a break, every act of kindness meant so much.

To every person who cared for our family in ED on 20–21 June and in the paediatric ward afterwards, thank you. We are so grateful for your skill, compassion and dedication. You made an incredibly difficult experience much easier to get through, and we will never forget the care you showed our son and our family.
