"Care that saved my life - and at no cost!"

About: Kyneton Hospital / Perioperative Services

(as the patient),

Recently I had my last colonoscopy - having turned 80!

It was at Kyneton Hospital in 2007 or 8 that I had my first one, the result of doing a swizzle-poo text that came in the post. It showed bowel cancer - treated just ten days later at Bendigo Hospital (plus some chemo there). No bowel problems ever since, still going well. So I am deeply grateful to KH - despite having had to have colonoscopies there every 3-5 years since!

As with these earlier ones at Kyneton Hospital, each staff member was friendly, exact about questions that mattered, explained things, and when things went a bit difficult at one stage, were both reassuring and supportive, getting things on track. And the post-scope sandwiches were excellent ...

Thank you!

PS: and thank you Medicare, which has covered the whole thing over the years. How great to have such a good public health service!
