"End of life for a dear friend!"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / DB4 - Renal Ward

(as a friend),

A very dear friend (Frank) died in the renal ward of Prince of Wales hospital. He had been having dialysis 3 days a week for about 5 years, and had then admitted as an inpatient to that ward numerous times over the years. He was admitted with kidney failure and many other complications. It was the end of his life He was only 69 years old. I was with him for the 4 days leading up to his death. Every single nurse and doctor were outstanding,  their care and concern and professionalism were remarkable. I cannot speak highly enough of the nurses on that ward, the palliative  care nurses and doctors, and the dialysis staff who all came to the ward to say goodbye to a wonderful man. A very personal, intense and fearful experience was made bearable by the care of the staff on the Renal ward -  thank you.
