"Great clinical care"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as the patient),

I was dreading having a colonoscopy post my first experience in Carnarvon where I woke up in extreme pain, bruising to my jaw, a bitten tongue, a sore hip and a groggy head that lasted for 5 weeks but at SCGH the anethestist (Simon) listened to my concerns, changed the medication he used and wow - I’ve woken up pain-free, and with a clear head. I am so grateful. A completely different experience!!

Dear Patient in iso,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent colonoscopy procedure at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

I am delighted to hear that the anaesthetist, Simon, and the team took the time to listen to your concerns, acknowledge your previous experience, and tailor your care accordingly. Providing patient-centred care that responds to each individual's needs is an important part of delivering high-quality healthcare.

Your feedback highlights the significant difference that listening, empathy, and personalised care can make to a patient's healthcare journey. I will ensure your kind comments are shared with Simon and the Endoscopy team, who will be greatly encouraged to know that their efforts had such a positive impact on your experience.

I wish you all the very best for your continued health and wellbeing.

Warm regards,

Peter McEwen

A/Executive Director, SCGOPHCG
