About: Swan Hill District Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Recently I developed severe abdominal pain  and presented to the SHDH ED at approx 6pm. I was very efficiently processed and a diagnosis of small bowel obstruction was made within a few minutes of examination by the ED MO and confirmed within an hour by CT scan.Conservative treatment was commenced and I was admitted to the ward.

I was treated by ward staff in a manner that left nothing to be desired and at every stage of treatment I was informed of what was happening and why. All staff (doctors, nurses, cleaners and kitchen staff) were most pleasant and courteous.

Fortunately my condition rapidly improved on the conservative treatment prescribed and I was discharged four days later. 

We are extremely fortunate to have such a hospital as Swan Hill District Health with first rate staff and facilities.

Thank you to all who assisted during my admission. You are appreciated.
