"Waited 4 years for an appointment for a referral"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as a service user),

I have been waiting 4 years at this stage for this referral with no apparent sense of urgency from the hospital and now they have a date for me for a couple of months from now.

Dear tucanajt46,

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the wait times for appointments at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. I understand that waiting for specialist care can be frustrating, particularly when you have been waiting for a significant period of time. I sincerely regret the distress and uncertainty that extended wait times can cause for patients and their families.

The hospital is committed to providing timely and appropriate care to all patients. However, I recognise that demand for some specialist services can result in longer waiting times than we would like.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact our Consumer Liaison Service on 6457 2867 or via email at CLS@health.wa.gov.au so that we can review your concerns and provide information specific to your referral and appointment.

Warm regards,

Renee de Prazer

A/Executive Director, SCGOPHCG
