"MGP Karratha Health Campus"

About: Karratha Health Campus / Maternity Unit

(as the patient),

I was accepted into the midwife program (MGP) at KHC in early 2026 for my second pregnancy. My previous pregnancy was through the same hospital in 2024 but the MGP program was not running then.

From my first phone call with my MGP midwife, until my final post natal home visit from her I was treated with the utmost care and professionalism. The home visits allowed for a relaxed environment for myself, my daughter and partner to gain the knowledge and support needed to have a healthy pregnancy. My midwife was supportive of me trying for a VBAC (successful) and offered to accompany me to any obstetrician appointments as I have a history of feeling pressured from them. She always communicated clearly and quickly when needed and it was reassuring to know who I was going to see at each visit. Being able to have home visits was super helpful with a toddler in tow as hospital waiting rooms aren't super toddler friendly. Additionally, not having to repeat my story over and over each appointment to a new midwife just meant there was more room to ask the questions I really wanted answered. It was comforting to know that whenever I had an issue, my midwife was only a phone call away and when I had an assessment at 34 weeks it was reassuring knowing who I was going to see. My midwife wasn't present for my birth, however my secondary midwife was called in. During such a precious moment, it was nice knowing who was delivering my baby and also helped me make decisions along the way.

I have suggested this program to all my friends that are expecting a baby and could not speak more highly of the care I received through this program. Midwife led care is second to none in my opinion and really empowered me to have such a beautiful birth experience that my partner and I will cherish forever.

Dear ariessz87,

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback about your experience with the Midwifery Group Practice at Karratha Health Campus.

It is great to hear that the continuity, communication and flexibility provided by your midwives helped you feel informed, supported and confident throughout your pregnancy and birth. Your experience demonstrates the real value of building a trusted relationship with the same small team of midwives, particularly when navigating important decisions about your care.

Congratulations on the arrival of your baby. I will ensure your feedback is shared with the MGP team, who will be very proud to know the positive difference their care made to you and your family.

Warm Regards,

Nhuan Ho
