"My 2 year old sons medical treatment"

About: Rockingham General Hospital / Emergency Department Rockingham General Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

We presented to ED at Rockingham hospital as my son had been excessively drooling and had some trouble with his breathing and complaining of a sore throat.

We waited in ED for less than 10 minutes before being taken through to a bed in the paediatric section of the ED where we were assessed by the nurses who gave him some pain relief and medicine to numb his throat. Within an hour of us being in a bed at ED we saw 2 doctors and the paediatric consultant who were all very compassionate and consulted on the best care for my son, he was given the right treatment straight after and admitted to the paediatric ward.

I cannot fault how wonderful all of the nurses and doctors have been from the ED to the paediatric ward. They were so thorough, compassionate and caring and made what was a very scary time for us as parents seem very controlled and put my mind at ease. Dr Rafiq-head of paediatrics has made me feel very reassured that he is and will continue to get the right treatment with follow ups and referrals to the ENT for follow up care and treatment.

Dear eridanusfk99,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. It is truly pleasing to hear that you were happy with your experience in the RGH Emergency Department and Paediatric Ward.

I am privileged to oversee this hospital and the dedicated staff within these departments, who are committed to ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care. Having an unwell child can be an especially distressing and challenging time for families, particularly when a hospital visit or admission is required. I am pleased to hear that your experience was a positive one and that you felt cared for and supported throughout your son's journey.

It will be my pleasure to share your kind words and gratitude with the teams and staff members involved in your son's care. Positive feedback such as yours is greatly valued and serves as a wonderful reminder of the impact our staff have on patients and their families.

I hope your son has continued to recover well and is now thriving.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience with us. On behalf of the hospital, I wish you and your family all the very best for the future.

Kind regards,

Asheila Narang

Executive Director
