About: Shanty Creek Residential Rehabilitation Facility

(as a service user),

My time at shanty creek could have been better. I feel the programs are very outdated and not made to cater for people at all different stages of their recovery. I feel that more time is spent trying to fill beds then spent properly caring for the residents already in the program. The case workers are great, and they are really passionate about their jobs however I do believe they have too big of a case load to be able to properly work with and help their residents. I do feel that some of the support workers look down their nose at residents like we are nothing but addicts and treat us like children, which makes it hard is very frustrating.
