"Twins success in the Kimberley!"

About: Broome Health Campus / Maternity/Midwifery

(as the patient),

Recently we had twins at Broome hospital. We received excellent care from the maternity and paediatric unit both antenatally and during the admission. They managed complications safely and expertly whilst carefully supporting our bonding and establishing feeding with our new babies. Our whole family was supported even by kitchen staff who truly cared! And we had a very safe and clear discharge plan with specialist physician follow up. We have also received wonderful support from the child health nurse and others at community health who have been helping us have a successful newborn, infant and breastfeeding journey with our twins!

Dear Twobabies,

Congratulations on the arrival of your twins, and welcome to the wonderful world of multiples! As a fellow twin parent myself, I know what an exciting and busy time this is for your family.

With newborn twins keeping you busy, we especially appreciate you making the effort to let us know about your experience.

It is wonderful to hear that you felt so well supported by our maternity and paediatric teams throughout your pregnancy, hospital admission and discharge. We are particularly pleased that the team's clinical expertise helped you safely navigate complications while also supporting bonding and feeding with your babies. It is also lovely to hear that so many staff, including our kitchen team, made a positive difference to your family's experience.

We're delighted that the support has continued after discharge through our Child Health and Community Health teams, helping you on your newborn, infant and breastfeeding journey.

I will ensure your kind words are shared with all the teams involved. Feedback like yours means a great deal to our staff and recognises the compassion, dedication and expertise they bring to their work every day.

Kind regards,

Millie Stewart

West Kimberley District Director
