Based on my experience, I honestly couldn’t recommend the King Eddies Family Birth Centre enough. I’m a first-time mum and was originally recommended the FBC by my GP who had an amazing experience there themselves.
My midwife was Mimi and from the first appointment I felt so welcomed and supported. Every appointment with Mimi was super informative but also really relaxed. I never felt pressured into making any decision and always felt like I had the information and support I needed to make the choices that were right for me. I also met my backup midwives, Gabby and Molly, who were both amazing too.
I also had such a positive experience with the broader King Eddies hospital. I had an incident during my pregnancy where I needed to go into the main hospital to be checked and I had zero wait time. Everyone was so attentive and reassuring and made sure both me and baby were okay.
The actual birth experience was incredible from start to finish. I ended up having a big baby 4.33kg and never thought I’d be able to birth a baby that size naturally! Mimi was absolutely incredible throughout the whole thing and genuinely the best coach I could have asked for, helping me into different positions and locations, could not have done it without her.
The care afterwards was just as amazing. The ongoing support from the FBC once we were home was unreal as well, the home visits are so valuable for asking questions and making sure everything is ok.
I would genuinely rate the whole experience 11/10 and based on my experience recommend it to everyone. I felt supported, listened to and cared for throughout my entire pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience.
