Recently I had my Pre Op Clinic
Which was organised by the lovely CNC Genevieve, from there Doug (the Anesthesist took me through the general anaesthesistic side of the surgery and also answered some questions which I forgot to ask my surgeon a week prior.
Went in for my surgery and was assessed and cleaned up by the Peri Op team before being transferred to the Cardio Thoracic theatres.
The nurses were just incredible and are just such huge assets to their department Adult Recovery and Peri Op and the hospital as a whole.
Up in Cardio Thoracic theatres once again the vibe was just incredible and the support I received from everyone I will never forget,
Dr Hugh Wolfenden and his surgical team did such a great job I don't really even feel that much pain after day 0 and this is with a sternotomy.
Was recovered in CTICU the nurses were once again treasures to behold from the moment I woke up after surgery and to this morning when I had my drains and catheter removed they were gentle, upfront and compassionate
The Phsyio team led by Nick and Katie was also very helpful and in only less than 48 hours since my surgery I was already up and about doing laps around the ward (with minimal assistance from the Student Physios)
