About: Bunbury Hospital / Surgical Ward Busselton Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

To the staff at Busselton Health Campus Emergency Department on night shift… thank you. And to the ED staff at Bunbury, and especially the Surgical team at Bunbury Hospital. Legends!

My son had excruciating pain, which my tired brain at 4am thought was appendicitis, end up being testicular torsion. The professional care, and urgent referral from Busselton ED to the Surgical team at Bunbury made it possible for my son’s testicle to be retorted and saved.

Very proud of our WACHS service. An excellent demonstration of service care, communication, and expertise. My son, my wife and family are all very impressed and grateful. Thank you again.

Dear A Very Relieved Father,

I sincerely hope your son is recovering well following his surgery. What a distressing and worrying time this must have been for you and your family, particularly with such an unexpected surgical emergency overnight.

We are committed to ensuring our teams provide professional, compassionate care to all patients and their families. I was very pleased to read that this was reflected in the care your son received during his time with us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the teams involved, as recognition such as this is greatly appreciated.

Once again, I wish your son a smooth and speedy recovery.

Kind regards,

Karen Horsley
Service Co-Director
