"Breastfeeding Centre of WA"

This is a very overdue thank you to the incredible team at the Breastfeeding Centre of WA! 

These wonderful and patient professionals - especially Team Leader Myra (and Midwife Meg!) have journeyed with my family through the delivery of four babies and being barely able to feed #1 to exclusively feeding #4 despite some feed issues and a stint in Special Care.

Baby #1 I was able to partially breastfeed for 4 months; Baby #2 I was able to partially feed for 8 months, Baby #3 I breastfeed exclusively for 12 months and now, with the recent arrival of Baby #4, I am now also exclusively breastfeeding despite some initial hiccups with feed intolerances, the need for formula compensation and a mild tongue tie etc.

But none of the issues with #4 alarmed me; I knew exactly how to handle them thanks to the tireless patience of these wonderful professionals over the years who empower mothers to nurse their own child against the odds. 

These are healthcare professionals who put the mother front and centre of their work. With so much focus on the baby (and rightly so), these professionals put in the unseen hard yards with the mother - paying attention to small details that are easy to gloss over.

The benefits to my children as a result of the hidden excellence provided by  the Breastfeeding Centre of WA (not to mention myself and family) are invaluable. The continuity of care particularly - having known Myra is at the helm of the ship in the background as a voice of steady experience and reason - is so incredibly reassuring; especially when combined with savvy and diligent professionals like Meg.

Thank you for your kindness, attention to detail and utter professionalism. You brought me and my children full circle and our lives are so much richer (and babies so much healthier!) for being under your watchful care!
