"A wonderful team at Royal Perth Hospital"

My dad recently underwent surgery and was cared for by the Urology team at Royal Perth Hospital. I wanted to take the time to say how genuinely grateful our family is for the care he received.

From the doctors through to the nurses and assistant nurses, the whole team created such a positive, welcoming and reassuring environment. When someone you love is having surgery, there is naturally a lot of worry, and the attitude of the people looking after him made an enormous difference to us.

I particularly want to thank Dr Shaun, Dr Connor, Summer and Irena, who were wonderful, but also the many nurses, assistant nurses and other staff whose names I unfortunately didn't catch. Everyone we encountered seemed approachable, kind and willing to help. There was a real sense that Dad was being looked after by a team who cared about him as a person, not simply as another patient.

What stood out to me was the positivity of the ward. People were friendly, encouraging and welcoming, while still being professional and attentive. Even the smaller interactions made what could have been a stressful experience feel much easier for Dad and for our family.

Healthcare staff often see people on some of the most difficult and uncertain days of their lives. The kindness and reassurance you provide in those moments really matters.

To the whole Urology team at Royal Perth Hospital: thank you for looking after my dad so well. Our family noticed it, appreciated it, and won't forget it.
