"My Mums care in the Whelan Ward"

About: Peel Health Campus / Palliative Care

(as a relative),

My Mum was admitted into the Whelan Ward for palliative care last Monday the 21st of September and passed away on Wednesday the 23rd of September.

I cannot thank the staff there enough of how they cared for my Mum in her final days, they were brilliant.

They were kind, compassionate and very caring, making sure Mum was not in any pain always gentle talking to her, it meant a lot.

They made us (the family) feel so welcome also, nothing was too much trouble for them, no question was left unanswered.

And they genuinely cared how we were doing in Mums last days.

I am glad Mum had her final days in there as she was so looked after.

Dear Liverpool,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Whelan Ward team during such a difficult and emotional time. We are deeply sorry for the loss of your mum and extend our sincere condolences to you and your family.

It is heartening to hear that the staff provided such kind, compassionate, and respectful care during your mum's final days. Ensuring comfort, dignity, and support for both patients and their loved ones is at the heart of what we strive to do, and your words reflect the dedication and compassion of our team.

We are especially pleased to know that you and your family felt welcomed, supported, and informed throughout your mum's stay, and that the staff were able to provide comfort during this challenging time.

Thank you again for sharing your appreciation. We will ensure your feedback is passed on to the Whelan Ward team, who will be greatly encouraged to know that their care made such a meaningful difference to your mum and your family.

Kind regards,

Clive Mulroy
