My Dad has had a leg ulcer about 8 weeks ago which was being cared for at the Drs surgery. Two weeks ago as it started healing he started getting cellulitis as a secondary infection which required going to emergency daily for intravenous antibiotics as he also had vascular issues with his peripheral veins that were hindering healing, due to this puss started forming. He then required an admission and a small surgical procedure to flush and get rid of the infection. Since being discharged he has been under outpatient daily wound care and the staff have been amazing throughout the whole onset of infection and getting on to it promptly.
