"MGP Karratha"

About: Karratha Health Campus / Maternity Unit

(as the patient),

We honestly have nothing but amazing things to say about the MGP in Karratha.

We were lucky enough to have Emy as our midwife, and from the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, supportive and trustworthy. Between the home visits, phone calls and text messages, she made me feel so supported throughout what was a new and wonderful journey. No question was ever too silly, and she was always so positive, reassuring and full of helpful advice and guidance.

When it came to labour and birth, Laura was there to support me through the whole process. Her calm, kind and relaxed nature made such a difference and helped me feel safe enough to relax, trust my body and surrender to the experience. I had a water birth, and Laura guided and supported me so beautifully throughout it all. The postpartum care from both Laura and Emmy was just as amazing, and I’m so grateful to have had such incredible women supporting me during such a special and vulnerable time.

I also want to thank Emer, Kate, Karla and Sam for all being part of this journey with me. Each of you has played a role in making our experience so positive, and we’ll always be grateful for the care, kindness and support you’ve shown us.

My only wish is that the MGP in Karratha could be available to more women, particularly first-time mums. Pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period can be such a beautiful but also overwhelming and vulnerable time, and having that familiar, consistent support makes an enormous difference. So many women living up here are also away from their families and don’t have that extra support network nearby, which makes services like this even more valuable.

I would love to see the program grow, with more midwives available to support more families in our community. Every woman deserves to feel as safe, supported and cared for as I did throughout this journey.

Thank you all for making such a huge difference to our experience of becoming parents. We couldn’t speak more highly of the MGP team in Karratha.

Dear octoberqm37

Thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback about the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) team in Karratha.

We are delighted to hear how supported, reassured and cared for you felt throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. Having consistent care from familiar midwives can make such a positive difference, particularly for first-time parents, and it's heartening to know that Emmy, Laura, Emer, Kate, Karla and Sam helped make your experience so special.

Your kind words about the team's compassion, guidance and support during such an important and vulnerable time will mean a great deal to them. We will be delighted to share your feedback with the MGP team and recognise the positive impact they have had on you and your family.

We also appreciate your comments about the value of the MGP program and your hope that more women and families in our community can access this model of care in the future.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. We are honoured to have been part of your journey into parenthood and wish you and your family all the very best for the future.

Warm regards
