"Felt valued and confident about recovery"

About: Busselton Health Campus / Emergency Department Busselton Health Campus / Rehabilitation Service

(as a service user),

In late May 2026 I had a major fall. On presenting to Busselton Hospital Emergency I was found to have several fractured ribs as well as significant abrasions to arms and legs. The care and attention was excellent with excellent after care at outpatients for dressings. I felt valued and confident about my recovery. I was keen to return to my "Active Seniors" fitness group but on the strong advice waited until I had attended the six week physio rehab group. I have recently completed this. The team there were very professional, helpful and fun. I enjoyed the group and feel well prepared to return to my community Active Seniors fitness group.

Dear bluedp49

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your fall and rehabilitation journey with us at Busselton Health Campus.

We are sorry to hear about the injuries you sustained from your fall, including your fractured ribs and abrasions, and are pleased to know you felt well supported throughout your recovery. It is wonderful to hear the care you received in the Emergency Department, through our Outpatient dressing service, and later as part of the six-week Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Program helped you feel valued, confident, and reassured during what must have been a challenging time.

Your comments about the rehabilitation group are particularly appreciated. Our team strives to create an environment that is not only professional and safe, but also welcoming and enjoyable. Knowing you found the program helpful, fun, and effective in preparing for a return to your Active Seniors fitness group is exactly the outcome we hope for our patients.

I will ensure your kind words are shared with the Physiotherapy, Emergency Department and Outpatient teams and the staff involved in your care. Positive feedback such as yours is greatly appreciated and serves as a reminder of the difference compassionate, patient-centred care can make.

Thank you again for sharing your experience. We wish you all the very best as you return to your Active Seniors activities and continue to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.

Kind regards

Jenny Hoskins
