"Excellent care"

We attended the Northam Hospital for my wife’s appointment with ophthalmologist Dr Tiki. There was a mix-up at reception and staff initially couldn’t find her on the appointment list. When we showed them the letter confirming the appointment time, Dr Tiki kindly said she would fit my wife in.

We had expected to discuss my wife’s cataract surgery, but during the examination Dr Tiki found that she had macular degeneration. She explained the diagnosis and why it was important to treat the macular degeneration before proceeding with cataract surgery. She gave my wife injections and arranged follow-up care.

We were very pleased with the care my wife received. Dr Tiki explained everything clearly and treated her with kindness and empathy. We also appreciated that there was no charge for the appointment or treatment, which was covered by Medicare.

We would like to thank Dr Tiki and the Northern Hospital team for the care they provided. We felt my wife was listened to and well looked after, and we wanted to acknowledge the positive difference this made to us.
