"Birth Armadale hospital"

About: Armadale Hospital / Birth Suite (and Antenatal Assessment Unit) Armadale Hospital / Maud Bellas Maternity Ward & Neonatal Nursery

(as the patient),

I had a very positive birth experience at Armadale, I went through the MAPS midwifery program. They were attentive and listened to all my concerns, making a plan for the aspects that were medically or emotionally necessary to have a positive experience. I had Nina for before birth and after birth. She looked after us amazingly post birth when I was struggling with mental health and potential food intolerance in bub. I had Ainsley as my delivery midwife and student Melissa, they made us feel informed and safe in a birth that could have been very traumatic. The whole team was professional, calm and reassuring when bub was slow to respond after birth. My husband also felt much more welcome and part of the birth this time, including letting him stay for a few hours at the beginning of the induction, offering juice, coffee or a sandwich to him during the birth. Letting him know things he could do to help me. Overall I felt very supported and listened to.

Dear authenticbk53

I was delighted to read your feedback and hear that you felt supported, listened to, and cared for throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postnatal journey. Welcoming a new baby is a significant moment for any family, and it is wonderful to know our team helped make this a positive experience for you.

Thank you for recognising the care provided by Nina, Ainsley and student midwife Melissa. It is particularly pleasing to hear that you felt informed, safe, and reassured, and that the support you received was responsive to both your physical and emotional needs.

I was also pleased to read that your husband felt welcomed and included throughout the birth experience. It is lovely to know that you both felt supported during this important time.

Thank you for sharing your story. I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the staff involved and the wider maternity team. I wish you and your family all the very best for the future.

Warm regards

Alisha Thompson
