I was in hospital for a condition that was usually being managed by specialists in Melbourne. A doctor came around with a large group of students on a medical round. He did not speak to me once, but then proceeded to tell his students that I was "a good candidate for a transplant". This had never been discussed with me before, and I found it deeply distressing. I later learned that I did not require an organ transplant at all.
