(as the patient),

I needed to present to Ipswich ED for ongoing treatment after seeing the GP. From the minute I entered the department the experience was nothing short of positive. The staff were professional and thorough and the new layout (even if some only interim) streamlined the flow from a patient experience compared to previous ED encounters I have had.

The staff accompanied me through to the Sub Acute Care area after only a short wait time in the temporary wait area and the care and attention I received in the SAC is to be commended. Of particular note, was the ED Dr - Thomas who was the treating Dr, I would like to thank him for his attention to detail and rapid diagnosis and effective treatment.

We were delighted to hear your words about our staff working within our Emergency Department and Sub Acute Care areas! We also think our staff are to be commended and it is always nice to hear members of our community think so too.

We particularly appreciate your comment regarding the layout of our Emergency Department and a streamlined patient experience. It can be challenging to work while renovations are being undertaken but we’re very excited about the expansion!

We have been working to understand an exceptional patient experience across our organisation. Our aim is to deliver this for all our patients, all of the time. Its great to hear from you we're making in roads on this commitment.

Our hospital, and the community, is fortunate to have great staff like Dr Thomas and we have passed on your note of thanks to him. Dr Thomas and the team around him work hard to provide quality care, with rapid assessment and attention to detail. Your words meant a lot.
