"Healthy Lifestyle Program (Murrumbidgee)"

About: Healthy Lifestyle Program (Murrumbidgee Medicare Local) Rural Primary Health Service (Murrumbidgee Medicare Local)

(as the patient),

Participated in the healthy lifestyle program in Talbingo, great shared experience, postive, enlightening. It could be improved by practice based learning, doing (not sitting) to learn, more motivational, less paper info more practicals eg cooking lessons for health. I'm frustrated my taxes were not more targeted on practice rather than paper/theory.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you found the program to be a positive experience.

The program is designed to educate participants and change their habits for a healthier lifestyle. To do this, participants need to understand the theory behind good health for long-term changes and the best way to do this is through theory based sessions. Each participant can then implement what they have learned into their lifestyle as it suits them.

The suggestion to include practical based sessions, such as cooking classes, will be considered in future planning of our health promotion programs.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
