My daughter in law early 2013 had a teenage sibling admitted to Townsville Public Hospital one Friday night for urgent brain surgery after cracking his skull fooling around with his mates. Doctors and nurses were brilliant until the sibling was admitted to the ICU ward for further treatment. Parents went visiting soon after, and discovered the sibling's arm bandaged and when they made an inquiry, was told by a nurse that the sibling crawled out of bed and was found on the floor. It appears there are no nurses on 24/7 bedside watch. We've found out that more than 200 doctors, nurses and allied health staff have been sacked from the Townsville Public Hospital in the last 12 months. I have been told of other incidences.
