"Staff at Leeton District Hospital showed their humanity at a very difficult time"

About: Leeton District Hospital

(as a relative),

A little while ago, my grandson, who at only 11 weeks, passed away. The ambulance was called, and although I did not get their names, they could not have been kinder. My grandson was taken to hospital. The staff that attended to him, and us were so kind, and compassionate. I cannot find enough words to describe how their sense of humanity helped us during such a tragic experience. Despite the horrible experience the compassion from the staff, their humanity, touched us. It seemed to me that some of the staff were devastated as well, but they held themselves together to do the job they had to do, but they never failed to show kindness, and compassion to us. Everyone involved, Dr Simon, Bec, Greg, and Lisa, and to those whose names I haven't mentioned, thank you so very much. You cannot begin to understand how your kindness helped us through this terrible time. Even the police, who had a job to do, did it with kindness. There is always the danger of people just doing their job, being cold, but this was far from the case of what we experienced. They all did their job, but never lost that compassion and empathy. One of the nursing staff who was at his birth came to see him. When it came time to finally say goodbye, they promised they would care for him. It was a devastating experience, but because of the humanity, kindness and compassion of the staff we saw at Leeton Hospital, it is something that we can never forget. It has taken me a couple of months to say thank you, because of the sorrow we still all feel, but it is important to me that you know that your actions mattered and made such a difference. I wish I could find more words. Thank you so very much.
