I presented to Wakefield Calvary emergency department having dislocated my shoulder. I stood at the desk in agony while the reception staff seemed to ignored me for about a minute while it appeared they finished their private conversation. Once I was finally acknowledged, I felt they were most concerned about me filling out paper work and organizing payment (I believe it was a ludicrous amount for the service I was given) than getting me seated and comfortable. I waited an agonizing hour just to get given some panadene by the nurse. Then another half an hour to see the doctor, who ended up doing his assessment in full view in the waiting room. He was cracking jokes and I thought was very insensitive and unprofessional while I was clearly in pain, scared and upset. I am overall disgusted with the lack of care, sincerity and professionalism from the staff I saw at Wakefield emergency.
"I felt the care I received at Wakefield emergency, was insensitive."
