I have been seeing my Counsellor through the Brisbane MIND program for over a year now I believe. I'm very thankful for the help offered and the opportunity to get such supportive, personalised care. My Counsellor is absolutely wonderful and has helped me through some serious past problems and current life challenges dealing with chronic illness and grief. I know I would not be able to afford such an experienced professional without the Brisbane MIND program. My only qualm would be that I wish I could have more appointments with her as I am restricted to 12 appointments in a year with the program, otherwise I would have to pay out of pocket.

I appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience of receiving counselling under the Brisbane MIND program. It is wonderful to hear that the support you have received has assisted you so much, and importantly, that our program is of value to those people in our community who would not otherwise be able to afford to access services.

The feedback you have provided about one of the limits of our program (the number of appointments each person is able to access each year) is also incredibly valuable. This type of information is important for our program team to hear, and to pass on to our funding body. Currently, there is a limit on the number of appointments for each person to ensure we can provide services to as many people as possible.

The National Mental Health Commission is currently undertaking a review of Mental Health Services and Programmes and considering ways in which services like Brisbane MIND can be improved.
