"Very well looked after at Box Hill Hospital"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My partner went to Box Hill Hospital - Emergency Dept with severe abdominal pains very late one evening. They were seen by a doctor within the hour and was admitted and scheduled for surgery early afternoon the next day.

During the evening the pains worsened and my partner's surgery was bought forward to first thing in the morning. My partner was kept very well informed by the staff as was I with phone calls advising me they were going into surgery earlier than scheduled and a further phone call advising that their surgery was successful.

We found the level of care to be excellent - the nursing staff were very friendly and informative. My partner has returned to Box Hill Hospital for their 6 week check and everything is well. I felt very confident in the hospital and would not hesitate to use this hospital again if needed in the future.

Dear grateful123

Many thanks for your sharing your story and feedback with regard to your partner's care at Box Hill Hospital. It's terrific to receive positive feedback like this and I will be delighted to pass this on to our Emergency Department frontline staff and their managers. It's a great reminder too of what is important and your point being "kept very well informed" is something that we are focused on right across Eastern Health. Thank you again for taking the time to share your story and pleased also to read that you are happy with the follow-up care. I hope that your partner's health continues to go from strength to strength. Kind regards, Alan Lilly
