"A bit of hope creeps in through the darkness"

About: Eastern Health

(as the patient),

My case manager, Leanne has saved my life more times than one. I have so much respect and admiration for her. She is passionate about her job and also really cares and listens.

Living with a mental illness is a challenging life and every day can be full of darkness but whenever I see Leanne, I feel a bit brighter and a bit of hope creeps in through the darkness. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done to help me get through this.

Dear Tiredmind

Thank you so much for sharing your story on Patient Opinion and great to hear what a difference Leanne is making to you in your care. Stories like yours will provide inspiration and encouragement to others as well as providing feedback on what is important for our staff - your health and your recovery. Your reference to "the darkness" is a reminder to all of what people may be feeling underneath the surface.

I will take great pleasure in sharing your story with Leanne and her managers and I hope that you continue to receive all the care and support you need.

In the meantime, take care. Kind regards, Alan Lilly
