"In excruciating pain and left waiting for 9 hours"

About: Goulburn Valley Health Service

(as the patient),

I had to attend the Goulburn Valley Health for pain management (something that I had been advised to do due to a chronic condition) and was told by the triage person (I refuse to call them a nurse) that there could be up to a 4 hour wait. The triage person took my pulse (which was fast) and blood pressure (which was high) and told me to sit down. No problem - I can understand they get busy. 7 hours later with not a single word or glance from triage, I am told that I will be seen within 30 minutes. As I was in so much pain that driving home was not possible, I continued to wait for another 2 hours before being called to the triage station and I felt I was forcefully encouraged to leave without being seen. I left, having been made to feel worthless and as if I was wasting their time, and sat in my car for the next 10 hours as I was in so much pain that I couldn't even turn the key in the ignition.
