"My experience and the service my family received"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hospital Liason Ipswich Hospital / Medical Oncology Clinic

(as a relative),

My brother attended his regular Oncology appointment at Ipswich Hospital and I accompanied him to the appointment because he was unwell. I contacted the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Service to seek assistance and support with the appointment. After speaking to Cassandra who advised that she would inform the male liaison officer to attend to provide support. Valentine arrived about five minutes later and spoke with our family regarding our concerns. Valentine stayed with us for the duration of the appointment, explained in detail what was going to happen regarding further tests etc. Our family, but most importantly my brother, was in exceptional hands. Valentine was professional, caring and respectful and was genuinely concerned about our needs.

We couldn’t agree more that Cassandra and Valentine are professional, caring and respectful. Along with the rest of the Indigenous Health Services team, they take genuine pride in their work and remain committed to providing the best service possible. Every day ensuring our patients are treated with dignity and respect. Needless to say we are very proud of the work they do and the services they provide.

We will pass your kindest comments onto Cassandra, Valentine and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Service, with the sincerest hope that you will continue to use this valuable service for any future visits to the Ipswich Hospital.
