"I cannot praise all of the staff enough who I came in contact with at Box Hill Hospital"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I hurt my ankle a number of weeks ago. With the pain & unable to weight bear I thought I had broken it. I thought I would need to go to A & E and had better go before it got too late in the evening. It was the first time I had needed to go to hospital & didn't know where to go. I don't live far from Box Hill Hospital but to be honest I had only ever heard negative feedback about the place. With it being nearby & not causing anyone to go out of their way too much I thought I would give it a try.

The plaster has just been removed, I cannot praise all of the staff enough who I came in contact with. From going into the A & E department that night, the x-ray staff, plaster lady, doctors and receptionists, everyone was helpful, cheerful & treated me with the utmost respect.

It will be a long haul for me to get back onto my feet as I suffer with a chronic illness besides my recent broken ankle.

Thank you again to the staff at Box Hill Hospital who helped me.

I am so pleased to read that you experienced our care and service in such a positive way and indeed, that we seem to have exceeded your expectations. Of course, community reputation does ultimately reflect our work and I think it's true to say that as Box Hill Hospital continues to go from strength to strength, so those negative perceptions also change, as they have done over the course of many years.

I will be sure to pass on your feedback to our staff and to their managers - receiving feedback like yours gives staff a real boost in their day.
