About: Child and Family Services - FNQ

(as a service user),

Meeting with departmental staff from Placement Services Unit, Far Northern Region.

This meeting was an opportunity to meet to discuss ways in which we can better support foster carers within the region in 2016 looking at different ideas on ways to share information with kinship and foster carers and also to look at recruitment ideas especially in rural and remote areas such as Thursday Island and Weipa.

Staff that attended were very focused and keen to come up with different ideas on how to do this. It was great to see that they were positive, creative and inclusive of other agencies with their ideas.

Dear CO201015,

Thank you very much for your feedback – I have passed on your kind words to my team at the Placement Services Unit. I know that the team are keen to explore new or different ways to recruit, support and celebrate foster and kinship carers in our region, particularly in our rural and remote communities. We are looking forward to working with your agency and our other partners to roll out the region’s carer support plan!

Kind regards.
