"Counselling succeeded where others have failed"

About: Brisbane MIND4KiDS (Brisbane North PHN)

(as a parent/guardian),

The counselling my child gets from Chris is very good. The counselling has succeeded where other providers have failed.

My child's mental condition has improved and whilst they still have issues, they most certainly have been reduced whilst under Chris' care. If there is a downside it is actually getting access to the service.

My local GP has indicated that they are only able to refer two patients a year to Brisbane Minds, my child was lucky enough to be patient number two for the year! It is highly likely that as a carer for my disabled spouse we would have been unable to fund the care for our child ourselves, if we had been even one week later seeing the doctor early in the year this could have conceivably led to the suicide death of my child.

Dear PO-OCT3,

It is pleasing to hear that the support you have gained from Chris through the Brisbane MIND4KiDS program has been of such benefit, thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback.

Brisbane MIND4KiDS is funded by the Federal Government but our budget is limited. To ensure a fair distribution of Brisbane MIND4KiDS sessions we have to limit the number of referrals individual GP's can make.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback as this will assist to improve the quality of services provided.

Kind Regards,

Manager, Brisbane MIND4KiDS.

Brisbane North PHN.
