"I have learnt something new from every person I have encountered in this experience"

I started as a placement student at Drug ARM Warradale over 18 months ago and gained a great deal of experience during my study. After completing my degree I stayed on as a volunteer while I looked for work. I was then successful to gain employment through Drug ARM and once my contract ended I have stayed on as a volunteer. I can't imagine my week without my day at Drug ARM, it is always a great experience and I have made many friends. My experience has developed so many skills and I have gained a great deal of knowledge in relation to substance use and supporting people with challenges in their life. I feel I have not only supported people on their journey but I have learnt something new from every person I have encountered in this experience. It is such a supportive service and I recommend it to people who are looking for volunteer options or are looking for support with their own alcohol and drug use.
