I have almost completed my 500 hour Social Work Bachelor student placement at Drug ARM Australasia in Annerley, QLD. The opportunities, team environment, learning and support here have been over and above my expectations. I can't recommend highly enough to other students to do their placement here.

One thing in particular that has been good is the counselling experience. I always thought I would have to do a Graduate Diploma of counselling after my Social Work studies, as my Bachelor lacks practical training in this area. However after my placement here I feel confident in my skills from the opportunities offered.

Another aspect I have enjoyed is the chance to go out with the Homeless Outreach team on weeknights.

Drug ARM places great value on their Students and Volunteers. The practical experience gained not only develops the individual but also enriches the sector as a whole. The supported face to face counselling opportunities afforded to students and volunteers compliments their studies and teaches the importance of being able to connect with clients with a therapeutic alliance.

Its always rewarding to receive such positive feedback from students who have enjoyed this aspect of their learning journey. Thank you.
