"Pathetic A&E Treatment"

About: Ipswich Hospital

(as the patient),

My child and I were victims of an assault and were transported by ambulance to the Ipswich Hospital. We were sent to the A&E waiting room and were not seen for over 1 hour, The initial contact with an A&E nurse was to check blood pressure and not much else. We then sat there for another 6 hours without any attention. We were finally seen by an A&E doctor who did some very basic checks but didn't really seem interested in doing any in depth checks. We were then discharged after just over seven hours in the waiting room.

I visited my GP who was more thorough and ordered X-rays. This was then followed up with CT scans which showed fractures to my face and nose which now require specialist treatment.

The attention received at Ipswich A&E was pathetic and less than professional.
