I have been an outpatient of Fremantle Hospital for the last 3 years due to a chronic eye condition that requires continual medication and regular checks.
I have had only good experiences of the eye clinic - doctors, nurses and counter staff.
When the hospital was an emergency hospital, it was very busy and you could wait a long time to see the doctor. As the hospital has become a specialist hospital I have found that the wait times have reduced considerably and the staff seem to have a better attitude and are more willing to help.
The change to a specialist hospital has also changed the pharmacy for the better, with wait times reduced and the staff being noticably calmer and less rushed.
I have to say that the pharmacy has been very professional and accommodating of patient circumstances over the last three years no matter the level of their work load.
I hope that the movement of large numbers of patients from other hospitals to the Freo clinics will not reduce the current standard of service.
