My partner and I had our first baby at Bentley Health Service last year. We received excellent care from very experienced and knowledgeable doctors and midwives. We could not fault the professionalism of the staff. However, we have recently learned that the maternity service at Bentley Health Service will be closing due to the opening of maternity services at the new Fiona Stanley Hospital. Many people in the local Bentley community are outraged that their local hospital will no longer provide maternity services. It is simply not good enough of the WA Health Minister to expect people living in the Bentley community to travel to Fiona Stanley Hospital for the delivery of their baby.
