I am wondering what is the current situation with having a Homebirth in Broome. I heard the Community Midwifery Program had applied to do homebirths, such as is offered elsewhere in Australia, and I'm wondering where this process is currently at?

Thank you “Broome Mum’ for your enquiry about homebirths in Broome. Whilst there has been some preliminary discussion within the Broome Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) for the development of a home birth service, I am not aware of any formal proposal for this birthing option.

For current birthing options available through Broome Hospital I would suggest you contact our Clinical Nurse Manager on 9194 2366.
