My daughter presented to Maroondah Hospital ED with acute, severe abdominal pain. She was assessed promptly, given pain relief and within an hour a provisional diagnosis of acute appendicitis. Within 3 hours she was on a ward and within 24 hours had surgery. Staff were professional and efficient (an expectation of hospital care); also kind and empathetic (underrated features of health care! ). My thanks to ED and 1N staff in all domains.

Dear AMD,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Patient Opinion. I was sorry to hear about your daughter's illness but very pleased to hear that she was seen quickly and received excellent care. It always makes our staffs' day when they receive positive feedback so I will make sure that the Managers of the ED and 1 North read and share your story.
