Caring and compassionate staff member at West Ryde.

I would like to acknowledge a very caring and kind staff member at West Ryde (Department of Housing NSW). Natalie is the most compassionate person I know. She is always very kind and gentle to me and goes above and beyond the call of duty. Recently I went to the office - when it was time for everyone to go home - but Natalie stayed until 'I had a roof over my head'. There was another person in the office who commented on what a special person she is. I have a mental illness and I'm often not able to afford my medication. Natalie has no Mental Health training, but despite my lack of medication she always has a calming affect on me. She is a very special person - not everyone has these wonderful qualities.

Thank you Recognition Deserved for your kind words and acknowledgement of Natalie’s empathy and efforts on your behalf.

As Acting District Director, I am always delighted to hear stories that highlight the commitment of individual staff members. Natalie’s kindness has also been noted by other posters on this site, and I am pleased that she was both able to help you put ‘a roof over you head’ as well as providing the support you needed to feel calm and relaxed during what must have been a stressful time for you.

Natalie – along with our entire Housing team – work very hard to support the people we serve, and your acknowledgement is very important to them. It is a sign that this work is appreciated and makes a real difference to the lives of people like yourself.
